Love Them Blurred Lines

Swiitch Beauty blesses my Instagram feed on the daily with their fun and unique makeup, tools and skincare products. The local South African brand keeps the ball rolling by creating dupes of everyone's favourite makeup brand products at a fraction of the cost but offering great quality. A serious 'hit' for me is their #G31 Contour Makeup Brush which retails on their online store for R199 (although I purchased mine at their pop-up store in Durban last year).

This brush is the dupe for the NARS Ita Kabuki Brush which retails for R716 (approx. $55), and is incredible. The #G31 (we're cool like that right?), is designed to sculpt and redefine the different angles and distinct features of one's face. I use this brush for both powder and cream contouring, first applying the product with a synthetic brush (I generally used the Coastal Scents small synthetic brush or the Ecotools Synthetic) in the obvious hollows of my cheeks, around the perimeter of my forehead, along the sides and tip of my nose as well as the edges of my chin. I then go in with my #G31 and begin to buff out the harsh lines, another serious plus to this brush is that it allows you to really focus the product in the desired areas which makes them stand out and brings a lot of warmth and dimension to face shape.

Although this brush is a 'Ride or Die' of mine, I can't overlook the fact that it sheds nonstop. I'm honestly unsure of it being a factory fault or whether I just received the runt of the litter but I've never been able to use my brush without getting a couple of stray stands scattered on my freshly beat face. I've tried washing and drying it using numerous ways but have yet to find a solution. I would most definitely like to do a repurchase and then update you guys on the new brush just to make a comparison.

All in all this is most definitely a great product, I do think for its amazing overall craftsmanship and ability to do what is promised it is value for money. However I do hope that the misfortune of a shedding brush was just a one time thing because I truly do love this product. Big ups to Rabia Ghoor and her team!
