I know you've probably heard me say it like a million times but they say the truth always repeats itself, hence, I have really oily skin… (make that a million and one). Oily skin has always been an issue for me until I watched a video by 'She's Lulu' in which she made mention of the ' Pond's Lasting Oil Control Day Cream ', so naturally I went out and bought the little guy and in all honesty it was love at first application… I love that this product keeps my skin and makeup matte all day long with maybe just one touch up, which is what I had to do in Thailand because it was so humid. It can be so simple to apply, I just pick up some product using a flat foundation brush and apply the cream in even strokes all over my face although I do recommend avoiding your eyelids if you have drier lids like me. You can use your hands for this but it is pretty drying and I feel that the dry residue it leaves really bugs me so I just stick to a brush, also this product does leave a white cast if you apply too much so I find that using a brush helps to evenly spread the product which helps to avoid the white cast.
My t-zone is the oiliest part of my face and so I try to apply another layer of cream over this area which does leave a white cast but I don't really mind it because I use an full coverage matte oil control foundation ( NYX 'Stay Matte but Not Flat' ). Also, if you guys are familiar with the 'Milk of Magnesia' trick I find that this cream is a great alternative because instead of pasting on something that isn't made to be applied on the skin the Pond's cream does the exact job while not damaging your skin. I also love using this as a primer, it keeps all my makeup glued to my face the entire day, and keeps it looking so fresh. The only con for me when it comes to this product is that it can be difficult to work with whether you're using your hands. This cream is extremely thick and has little lumps of cream in the jar and has a very powdery texture. I personally find it very hard to apply this product with my hands so I use a brush, to first break the product up and then apply it to my skin.
The major pro to this product has to be it's extremely affordable price tag, you can get a little tub of this for about R36 and it lasts a hella long time because you need just the smallest amount. Guys I swear by this product and will definitely repurchase this again and again, I really hope this post helps anyone of you with oily skin like myself and be sure to let me know your thoughts if you give this cream a try.
