I always hear about how people with drier skin can never really find a foundation that doesn't break up or cling to their dry patches, until L.A Girl Cosmetics' life changing 'Pro Coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Foundation' which seems to be everyone's go-to.
Yes although many think the hype excessive, I had to poke my nose in it and see what all the fuss was about. There are so many amazing pros to this foundation it's almost unbelievable, for starters, its so damn affordable at R170, you get 28ml of product, they have a 16 shade range, it has insane coverage and it lasts for hours on end, like what more could you ask for? (Well besides a couple more shades right?).
I tried applying this foundation with both a brush (the Swiitch Beauty Oval Brush ) and a makeup sponge ( Real Techniques Sponge ).
Both the brush and the sponge give you the same amount of coverage although they give you different finishes. The sponge gives you a more dewy/ wet look despite the amount of product you apply, whilst the brush gives you a drier look although the dewiness looks more like a glow rather than wet. Using a brush is also a lot less time consuming because you can spread and blend out the foundation quicker and you don't have to wait that long for it to dry down like you would using a sponge. After you've applied the foundation I strongly recommend you wait for it to dry down completely before applying powder over it because it can begin to cake in places, also try to apply powder in small qualities and then slowly layer it. If you have a dryer skin type you really don't have to apply a tonne of powder but if you have oilier skin I definitely recommend you press in a lot more setting powder because it is a very runny and wet looking formula.
All in all I love this foundation, I would definitely repurchase it. If you decide to get this and you have oily skin just keep in mind that this is for sure not a matte foundation and you do need to do a touch up or two throughout the day with either powder or blotting sheets. This foundation gives you a seriously healthy and beautiful glow without your skin looking greasy, and not to forget that it is hella long wearing.
